Change in action

Our approach and services

  • Liberatory Philanthropic Advising

Supporting foundations and philanthropic organizations in sharing and ceding power with communities and leaders from marginalized and impacted communities. Including advising on, and implementing, trust-based and participatory grant-making practices.

Strategic planning, advisory and technical assistance to philanthropies seeking to invest in movements, system transformation, harm-reduction and the self-determination and power of immigrant, BIPOC, LGBTQAI+ and other marginalized communities.

  • Just and Equitable Research and Analysis

Designing and conducting culturally responsive and equitable research (quantitative, qualitative, creative) that incorporates participatory practices and shifts power to individuals most impacted by the topics of study. Including designing culturally responsive and equitable methodology, data collection tools, analysis, findings and recommendations.

Research and analysis to amplify marginalized people’s experience, illuminate systemic harms, support movement-building, shape legislative change, drive system transformation, and inform community solutions.

  • System Transformation Support

Helping policy advocates, movement-builders and governments to center and partner with impacted people to transform public systems so they are building, not disrupting, the power and well-being of marginalized communities. With a particular focus on changing the child welfare/family regulation system into one that supports family integrity and wellbeing.

This involves partnering with impacted individuals, deep listening, and, co-designing and scaling solutions so that public systems are working for communities.
